Entry into the Blogosphere

First off, let me just say this: I have a lot of opinions. I’m also a bit of a fly on the wall when it comes to the internet – meaning I’m much more of a browser than a participator. However, when you mix the world wide web with anonymity, chaos often ensues. Therefore, this is an personal experiment to test whether or not I can keep up with my own personal blogosphere while taking my Strategic Social Media course at UNT.

A little background on me:

I’m a native Texan, fan of the wonderous sport of hockey, and educational masochist. I graduated from UNT with a Bachelor’s in Journalism in May 2010, and returned this past fall to further my studies as a graduate student. Some of my biggest pet peeves are bad tippers, DudeBro’s, overpaid atheletes and entertainers, and cyberbullies.

I cherish the simple things in life: swinging on swings, rockclimbing, traveling, reading, having picnics and drinking wine with good friends. I relish in the absurd, and love coming across new, bizarre things in life. It would be my dream to travel the world recording and writing about such things. In fact, my dream job would probably be doing what Josh Gates from Destination Truth on the SyFy Channel does: traveling to remote destinations to search for Bigfoot, Nessie, and the like. Well, maybe wading through uncharted Malaysian waters wouldn’t be exactly my taste, but close enough.

Please feel free to add me as a Facebook friend, follow me on Twitter, connect with me on LinkedIn, or comment on this blog! I can’t assure you that I’ll always have witty status updates, but I’ll do my best.
